In 1985 the crime statistics in the country were bad and getting worse. It was apparent that alarms and window locks alone were not giving adequate protection against burglars. There was an obvious need for something new and more effective. The answer was Security Grilles. Grilles are effectively a steel 'net' forming an obvious and visible physical barrier between the occupant on the inside and the intruder on the outside. The mere presence of a grille is usually sufficient deterrent on its own. Unfortunately though, they have a reputation for being ugly and for making premises look like a prison. This is quite unnecessary if the design of the grille is carefully chosen to blend in with the premises. This we have done with great care and there are a wide range of patterns to choose from. We have designed and developed a purpose made security grille system with adjustable fixings to fit to any glazed area in a building, the most vulnerable part. The grilles had to meet three criteria:
